Japanese Knotweed Eradication Project Phase 2 at Amherst State Park

On September 12, 2011, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation sprayed the area where the invasive Japanese Knotweed was cut down and had started to grow back.

On July 30, 2011, volunteers from the "Amherst Yes' (Youth Engaged in Service) Program worked very hard to clear the area on the invasive Japanese Knotweed plant. Arboretum Volunteers and members of the Amherst Conservation Advisory Council also participated. Bob Walter from the Amherst Planning Department led the project.
