Peregrine Health Management to re-open
Holy Family Adult Home
Amherst Bee, August 30, 2006 / Business
The Holy Family Adult Home located at 410 Mill St. in Amherst will be reopening in October as one of Peregrine Health Management's facilities.
The building was formerly owned and operated by the Franciscan Sisters and is located in Amherst State Park. The building has been renamed Pilgrim's Landing Senior Living Community and will consist of 94 private assisted living rooms.
Services will include: three meals per day, personal care supervision, dementia programming, social activities, housekeeping, and laundry service. Peregrine will be spending up to $1.5 million to renovate the building by enlarging some rooms, adding air conditioning and a sprinkler system.
"Obviously, the bucolic setting alone will make this a very attractive facility, but we also aspire to make Pilgrim's Landing the most affordable assisted living facility in Western New York," said Stephen Bowman, president of Peregrine. "Our rates will start at $1,700 per month for private rooms."
This will be Peregrine's third assisted living facility in the area. They also operate Peregrine's Landing of Cheektowaga, and Quaker's Landing in Orchard Park.
"We were drawn to this location, in part because of this park-like setting, but also to the spiritual environment fostered by the Franciscan Sisters" Bowman said. "It is our mission to build on the spirituality that the sisters created by taking advantage of their beautiful chapel and to make the facility available to the retired priests and sisters who may not have the resources to afford the more expensive alternatives."
